BACKGROUND
Until recently Rock Creek Children's Home, formerly named Matsangoni Orphanage, was located on property owned by their former benefactor who was a local church Bishop. After the bishop died his family took control of the property and evicted the 75 orphans and their caretakers. The number of orphans has now grown to 120. Bishop Simon Karisa, who is the current overseer, found a new location on a plot donated by a church. They have already built two classrooms and a toilet and have broken ground on a dormitory and dining hall with help from a church in Portland Oregon. The Rotary Club of Temecula donated funds to build a well and hope to bring the electric in the near future.
